This medication is used to treat: high blood pressure
What are the contraindications of Exforge?
It is prohibited to use in the following cases:
Patients who have shown hypersensitivity to amlodipine or valsartan or any other component of the medication.
Pregnancy in the second and third trimesters.
Urinary retention.
What are the side effects of Exforge?
Common side effects of this medication:
Dizziness
Cold symptoms such as nasal congestion and sneezing
Sore throat
What are the precautions for using Exforge?
The possibility of excessive blood pressure decrease is rare; caution should be taken if there is depletion of fluid volume and sodium.
Start treatment cautiously in patients with heart failure, recent heart attack, or those undergoing surgery or dialysis.
A heart attack or severe cardiac arrest may occur after starting or increasing the dose of amlodipine, especially in cases of severe coronary artery disease.
Use cautiously in patients whose kidney function depends on the renin-angiotensin system, such as patients with renal artery stenosis, chronic kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or fluid loss.
The combined use of calcium channel blockers, angiotensin II receptor blockers, or aliskiren is associated with an increased risk of low blood pressure, hyperkalemia, and changes in kidney function such as acute renal failure compared to monotherapy.
What are the drug interactions of Exforge?
If you are taking any of the following medications, inform your doctor or pharmacist; you may need to adjust the dose or perform certain tests:
Do not use if you are taking any of the following: aliskiren, dantrolene.
The following drugs increase the level or toxicity of valsartan or amlodipine:
Benazepril, captopril, diltiazem, enalapril, fosinopril, ivabradine, lisinopril, lithium, moxifloxacin, nefazodone, perindopril, potassium phosphate injection, quinapril, ramipril, trandolapril, simvastatin.
What are the storage conditions for Exforge?
Store the medication away from moisture at room temperature (between 15-30°C).
